GEDI findings of increasing ethnic diversity and decreasing segregation in the media (The Guardian, BBC, and more)

August 25, 2023

On 17th January 2023, the GEDI team published the first peer-reviewed analysis of the geographies of ethnic diversity and segregation, using 2021 Census data. The paper, published in The Geographical Journal, is open access here: https://doi.org/10.1111/geoj.12507

The findings - of increasing ethnic diversity and decreasing ethnic residential segregation - received considerable press attention, online, in print, and on TV and radio. The research was featured in The Guardian, BBC National (UK), BBC News Channel, BBC One News, BBC Scotland News, BBC Radio London, and in other national and local stations/outlets.
