GEDI team member Professor Stephen Jivraj will present findings from joint work on national identity in England and take part in a panel discussion for the launch event of a policy briefing series hosted by UCL CeLSIUS.

Title: EVIDENCE ON... National Identity in England policy brief launch

Date/time: Thursday 3 December, 13:00 to 14:00 (UK time)

About the webinar:

Has British national identity truly shifted over the past decade, or are statistical changes down to how census questions are asked?

To mark the publication of a new policy brief – “Evidence On... National Identity in England” – the Centre for Longitudinal Study Information & User Support (CeLSIUS) at UCL invites you to a live launch discussion.

Drawing on data from over 300,000 members of the ONS Longitudinal Study, author Stephen Jivraj examines who identified with a British identity in 2021 and who transitioned to one over a 10-year period.

This live event will be recorded and later edited by Research Podcasts into a featured episode of the UCL-hosted podcast Linking our Lives.

Read the Brief & Submit Your Questions

The policy brief is available to read and download now. We strongly encourage attendees to take a look beforehand and submit any questions for the author or panel when you register. Your questions will help shape our live Q&A session and may be included in the final podcast episode.
